405 Bourke Street, Melbourne is a fabulous addition to the Melbourne skyline and Blue Squared were thrilled to provide the window automation for our client Multiplex.

Developed by Brookfield in collaboration with ISPT, 405 Bourke Street is one of the largest commercial office precincts in Melbourne’s CBD.

The 40 level building reaches approximately 167 metres high and offers 66,000m2 of Grade A office accommodation with Premium Grade services, Targeting 5 Star Green Star and 5 Star NABERS environmental performance.

Innovative construction methods were required to enable the building to cantilever some 16 metres over the heritage apartment building beneath, which was also restored as part of the project.

To give an idea of the sheer size of this tower Multiplex state that, construction commenced in 2018 with 3,300 workers on-site throughout the three-year build. Approximately 10,000 tonnes of structural steel and 31,795 cubic metres of concrete were used to build the tower.
We provided SE Controls Shevtec Controllers to automate Safetyline Jalousie Louvres as part of the essential services system and also environmental controls via the BMS output.
