Overview

The Galuwa Recreation Centre marks a major milestone for the Lane Cove community, delivering a state-of-the-art multi-sport and recreation facility designed to support a wide range of activities and community use.

After more than 15 years of planning, design, and construction, the centre brings together indoor and outdoor courts, flexible community spaces, integrated golf facilities, and social areas within a highly considered, modern environment. Sustainability and building performance sit at the core of the design, with features including solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and natural ventilation strategies.

Our Scope

Blue Squared were engaged to supply and install the window automation systems across the sports halls, forming a key part of the building’s natural ventilation and essential services strategy.

The installation included:

  • 28 WindowMaster WMX826 double actuators with MotorLink® technology
  • Automated louvre systems across both sports halls
  • 14 WSC320P control panels with BACnet/IP high-level interface modules
  • Full system integration with the building management system

All field cabling was installed as fire-rated, reflecting the critical role of the awning windows and louvres in supporting both natural ventilation and essential building services.

System Performance & Integration

The automated façade systems were designed to provide intelligent control of airflow, contributing to internal comfort, energy efficiency, and overall building performance.

Integration via BACnet/IP allows the system to operate seamlessly within the broader building management infrastructure, enabling coordinated control, monitoring, and optimisation of the indoor environment.

Outcome

The Galuwa Recreation Centre delivers a high-performance, future-focused community facility, where intelligent building systems play a critical role in how the space functions day to day.

Blue Squared’s contribution ensures that the natural ventilation strategy is not only effective, but fully integrated, supporting a healthier, more sustainable environment for the community.
