IGLU Student Accommodation, Redfern

Blue Squared were thrilled to work with Richard Crookes Constructions on IGLU Redfern. An 18 floor, 370 bed, 134 unit student accommodation facility with communal living, retail and community spaces on levels one and the ground floor.

Blue Squared provided the automation for Safetyline Jalousie Louvres by supplying and installing controls suitable for both Fire and Natural ventilation. The controls used were seventeen SE Controls OS2 SHEVTEC Programmable Controllers.

OS2 SHEVTEC Controllers are compliant and tested to EN12101:10 and are complete with battery back up for continued operation should there be a mains power supply failure.

The system operates as seventeen separate fire zones to open individual floors on fire trip. For day ventilation all floors operate as a single zone via a standard day ventilation switch. The system provided also incorporates a weather station to close all louvres upon high wind and rain events.
